Scott Spangler
President, Future Captain Sports

'Coach Scott' coaches with Nether 1776 and the Union Academy. He is also the Head Coach of the U12 Boys Eastern Pennsylvania Olympic Development Program. He has a USSF “B” License and is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.

Professionally, Scott played at VfB Stuttgart in Germany.

In college, he was a four year starter at Virginia Tech. His senior year (2007), he captained Virginia Tech's final four team.

Scott was a four year starter at Strath Haven High School where he won the state championship. In his junior and senior years, he was named Delaware County Player of the Year.


Jessica Spangler, Associate Director Future Captain Sports

Jessica is the Associate Director of Future Captain Sports where she oversees the Child Development Soccer Program, and handles administrative responsibilities. She also provides team training for local youth club and individual soccer training.

She is currently is the Academic Coordinator for Student Services for Athletes at the University of Delaware since 2009 where she works with men's and women's soccer and men's lacrosse to provide academic and career counseling. She teaches courses on transitioning to the college and study skills.  Jessica also works with high school student-athletes to provide college counseling and works individually and has done workshops for the Philadelphia Union Academy and local soccer clubs.

Jessica is a former women's soccer player for the Virginia Tech soccer team where she played all four years and was a two time recipient of the Offensive Most Valuable Player award. She also played semi-professionally in Virginia. She has a Masters in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University where she helped coach the women's soccer team and was a graduate assistant advisor.
