The Future Captains Sports Child development Soccer Program was developed in 2009 as a way to engage early youth in enhancing child development through soccer. What started as a simple program evolved into a comprehensive child development program complete with a eight week curriculum for ages 18 months- 9 yrs.

Good Sports: Ages 18-24 months

Playmakers: Ages 2 1/2- 3 years-old

Role Models: Ages 3-4 years-old

Team Players: Ages 5-6 years-old

FC Sports Child Development Soccer Classes are more than just a youth soccer program. Do we teach soccer? Absolutely, but we are more concerned with the process of developing children to lead and succeed through the sport of soccer.

Therefore, we use soccer as a tool to help children develop not just physically, but also intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Future Captains Sports and our coaches believe that this approach builds stronger fundamentals skills, a better understanding of the game, and an appreciation for sportsmanship and teamwork. But most importantly, it builds self- esteem, which is the key for success in everything.

We developed the FC Sports Soccer Curriculum using various child development theories as the foundation. We made sure soccer classes are age-appropriate in terms of physical, cognitive and emotional abilities and created each game to incorporate child development so that coaches and parents can understand why we do what we do. This means that even though we may challenge children, we will never put them in a situation that they cannot master or feel successful.
